Development projects

Development projects fit is closely with research and education, and are conducted as tailormade endeavours for individual clients or then on public development funding or combinations of these.

The focal areas in the development plan for the University Consortium of Seinäjoki are continuity and effectiveness in research, intensification of adult education and cooperation with HEIs and business life.  Application is constantly open for the promotion of international operations.

The funding made available by the Ministry of Education to the University Consortium is a significant development resource, amounting to 500,000 Euros per year.  The UCS projects accomplished on this funding during the period 2004 - 2011 have served to support the development of the research work of five universities at Seinäjoki, the introduction of modern ICTs, the implementation of degree-oriented teaching and the startups of international research projects.

Those funding development projects to be accomplished at the University Consortium of Seinäjoki include the Regional Council of South Ostrobothnia, the Employment and Economic Development Centre of Southern Ostrobothnia, Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation TEKES, the Academy of Finland, various companies, the INTERREG Programme, the EU and the EU Structural Funds.
